Systems
Systems worth knowing on a first evening
Updated 2026-10-18
I grouped the systems people search separately — grade shop, runes, cooking, new game plus — onto one page. Splitting them would have made four thin posts that all quote the same Dengeki list.
Craymel cages
Keele and Meredy each carry a Craymel Cage. Which Greater Craymels you set, and how you fringe them, decides the artes you can cast. That is the original system, still here because the remaster did not rebuild combat. Greater Craymel growth items show up in the official difference notes as well. I am not listing every fringe result; a full arte table is a walkthrough's job.
Cooking
Cooking stays a party skill. The remaster's new default is to pick whoever has the highest cooking skill automatically, so you stop handing the pot to the wrong person. Recipes are part of the New Game Plus carry list: you can choose to bring them or leave them.
Grade Shop, Boost, and retries
- The Grade Shop is available from the start, not locked behind a clear.
- Boost covers experience, gald, damage dealt, encounter rate (on, low, off), and a death-penalty toggle.
- Battle retry puts you back in the fight after a wipe. Quick recovery tops the party's HP and status in one command.
- Mania, labeled Extreme in English, is selectable on a first play. Unknown waits until New Game Plus.
- Nereid's Labyrinth opens on a first play once you are inside Shizel Castle, instead of waiting for a clear.
New Game Plus carry list
Carry-over is per switch: character info, artes, items, lenses, cooking, titles were added in v2.0.0, orders, the collector book, and the monster book. Titles did not carry at the first launch build. The day-one patch added them. The coliseum 'all-time' challenge can be repeated, but the reward is once per cycle. Minigames can be skipped or retried.
